My ‘Gone Fishing’ set is certainly one of my top sellers and I do get questions daily about how to assemble the cake topper. I designed this cake topper with the thought of taking a simple homemade cake and transforming it into something super cute with just a few simple paper designs. I see many copycat cake toppers, but folks, this is very original design! 
Required materials:
- Gone Fishing cake topper printable, available here
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- 3 bamboo sticks
- Bakers Twine (available at many dollar stores)
- Oreo crumbs
- Several blades of plastic grass (purchased small grass pot at Target and cut what I need)
Cut out the four fish and the fishing sign from the printable file you purchased from my Etsy shop! If you want to make a longer line of fish, simply print off two copies of the file and string more fish! 
Next, cut approximately 10 inches of bakers twine and tie a loop knot to one end, string the bamboo stick and then do the same for the other end.
Take each individual fish and turn it over to dab just a bit of hot glue to the tip of its mouth and quickly adhere to the bakers twine. Tip: to ensure even spacing of the fish, I recommend laying them down as you like on the twine before gluing.
Next, turn the fishing sign over and glue the third bamboo stick to the back side. 
Here you see the Oreo crumbs and plastic blades of grass. You will want to pour anywhere from quarter to half a cup of the crumbs onto the center of your cake. I then inserted the fishing sign, just slightly slanted. Next, insert the two fishing line bamboo sticks just behind the sign and be sure not to insert to far so you cover the fish with the sign. The final touch are the plastic blades of grass.
