Tim Holtz Paper Rosette with the Sizzix Big Shot
Cut your patterned papers into strips. It is best to use 12″ paper strips but you can also use printed patterned papers from the party sets. The medallion die cut will be just shy of complete so I just use a circular paper punch for the that instead.
Run your die cut through the Big Shot. Start with the extended spacer on the bottom, then 1 strip cutting pad, then the die-cut face up, then the paper and lastly the 2nd strip cutting pad on top. Roll the die through the Big Shot.
Remove the die cut paper rosette and proceed to accordion fold the long scallop piece along the perforated lines. On one end, dab some hot glue or double sided tape.
Roll the paper into a cylinder and glue the two ends of the scallops together.
On a flat surface, gather the flat side of the cylinder tight together while spreading and pushing down on the top to create the rosette.
Turn your rosette over and glue the medallion to the back side. You can use double sided tape, but I recommend hot glue to ensure your rosette remains study.
Add a 2″ cupcake topper to the front side of the paper rosette, again using double sided tape or hot glue. Lastly, add a lollipop stick to the back side of the paper rosette and pop your decorated cupcake topper into your cupcake!
I hope you recreate the paper rosette cupcake topper in your next party!
